International management consultant, Douglas L. Bartley, author of Job Evaluation: Wage & Salary Administration, has now compiled and authored A How-To Manual on Human Resource Problems to assist businesses, large and small, in complicated issues that can arise in day-to-day operational management. His previous book was used as a teaching text in over 250 universities and business schools. He has also been a regular contributor to professional trade journals throughout the United States.
Mr. Bartley holds a BS in education and a master’s in business from the University of Illinois and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively. He has worked for a multitude of companies in need of management improvement throughout the world. His expertise and talents as a consultant in Human Resource Management and Factory Management has been utilized by governmental agencies to oversee thirty-seven corporations in seventeen countries over a span of eight years. Bartley’s book is a wonderful do-it-yourself manual about the importance of human relationships in business. Many business executives just focus on the rules and how to implement them. But the important step that they are missing is that an employee’s life and well-being is impacted by these rules. This is a book about human resource problems like no other in that it lays out how to improve employ relations so that everyone is protected. In other words, Bartley’s book focuses on improving employee relations before problems occur by putting policies in place which will protect all employees. This book is a must read for all human resource departments. Ideally, Bartley’s book should be used as a resource tool and check list for all human resource departments to ensure that employees are taken care of and protocols are in place to protect employees. Nothing is left out. All human resource departments have to do is to implement and follow these policies.
