Leslie Mason Lorenz graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism from Texas A&M University and a master of arts in communication arts from Incarnate Word University. While in college, she studied and traveled abroad, which has been of great influence in all her creative endeavors. She is a former high school English and art teacher at Northeast Independent School Districtin San Antonio, Texas, where she currently resides.

The stories by Leslie Mason Lorenz were originally created for her own children, Cameron, Eva, and Lance, who encouraged her to publish them for the enjoyment of others. The illustrations are inspired by the original coloring pages she drew for her children when they were young.
