Cary Jane Ballas and her husband Bryan reside in southeastern Pennsylvania along with children Quinlan, Hunter and Cabry. Having a background in social work, Cary was aware of the importance of helping her children deal with the loss of their beloved sibling, Finlay.

Hunter George Ballas, a five year old kindergartner, had his own unique understanding of Finlay’s passing that was hopeful and inspirational. Together, Cary and Hunter decided to write a story that would inspire communication between adults and children who have experienced the loss of loved ones.
