Diane DeLap is a retired senior citizen, also an IT specialist and computer programmer. She has worked as an electronics repair technician, TV engineer, high school electronics teacher, and video and audio engineering college instructor. Finally, Diane is a former pastor of a fundamentalist Christian church. She is transgender and transitioned to live as a female in the early 2000s.
She married the love of her life, Jan, in the early 1960s, and they learned together what Diane’s gender conflict would mean to them and their marriage. As they learned, they both became active in transgender support organizations, supportive LGBTQI+ groups, and mainline Christian denominations, working for inclusion and acceptance of gender variant persons. Jan succumbed to breast cancer in 2019, so Diane took on the task of telling their story with this book. Diane lives with her three cats, Lily, Tolstoy, and Quinn, in Southwestern New Hampshire.
